When I talk about Indian food to anyone from US, most of the time the first thing they say is tikka masala and naan. That’s pretty much what people think Indian food is! But the reality is so different, I grew up eating everyday food exactly like this- a dal, a sabzi (which was usually any seasonal vegetable), yogurt in some form, roti, salad.
