Oct 6, 2024 · The P790's have dominated the market for a reason. They are bigger, more forgiving, and aimed at distance. They are not going to actually make the heads that much small (if at all). They will tweak the head profile to make it appear thinner, but they are NOT trying to get anywhere close to the P770.

Apr 25, 2022 · Result 140 yds with both. The pro said told you so, I asked if the Stealth would be better and was provided with one with a regular shaft. Result 160-165 yds but with far too much roll out within this distance. Pro says P790 as the ball would stop on a green unlike the Stealth. Research since shows P790 30.5 degrees and Stealth 28 degrees.

Oct 6, 2024 · For all you P790 fans, there will be updated P790s in March 25. Per my guy, they are slimmed down on the top line and sole. They will also have a newly designed foam insert that is supposed to dramatically cut down on the fliers that lead to inconsistent distances. He said thin top line similar to the 770.

Mar 25, 2020 · I play the P790 with the stock DG105 shaft. My handicap is also around 6. For me, there were two significant differences between the P790 and i500, feel and ball flight. With my ball, the TP5, the i500 felt hollow and clicky on good impacts and borderline harsh on marginal ones. The P790 was significantly different.

Oct 8, 2021 · I love 2019 P790 ..2021 P790 is bigger clicker and harsh feeling in sub 50deg in CT. They added and moved tungsten at the bottom. 2021 spin less but have higher descent angle vs 2017 spin more then 2021 and had lower descent angle... both did same. If you are playing in Windy course, 2017 is your friend. My observation summary

On the GolfWorks site, a similar build of 7 clubs, TS1-IM with DG and Lamkin UTx grips, is $705 through their custom shop; there are lower priced shaft/grip options available. Took a look at P790 prices in BST. The most recent sold set was $750-ish.

Oct 12, 2020 · Switched from p790 mid and short irons to p7mc's late last year, and am not noticing a drop-off in distance but am seeing in increase in accuracy. I bought my first set of newish irons in late 2008 which happened to be the 2005 tp forged irons. After years wear and tear, I parted ways with them, and decided to order a set of p790s (3-pw).
