Feb 15, 2024 · Victor exceeded my expectations but the hype-train needs to his the brakes. Wemby’s shooting splits were still kinda underwhelming—46/32/80 isn’t great for a 7-4 center. He’s got very good handles for a man his size but you don’t really want him handling the ball as much as he did last year.

Not a Thunder fan, just a draft nerd stumbling by. Chet to me is a better prospect than Wembamyama and next year’s draft as a whole looks surprisingly weak. That being said, Victor still projects as a good player, but much more of a project than someone like Chet who already has an all-around foundation and just needs to get better at each skill.

Jun 27, 2023 · Oh without a doubt. I do think that reigning in his shot selection will get him to the line more, and will result in probably the same ppg on probably closer to 10% better efficiency. I wouldn't be shocked for Victor to be anywhere between 15-22 ppg on 55% shooting as a rookie. And then yes. The defense will be transcendent.

This is comment section is full of people comparing peak Zion from 2 months before draft to a way younger Wembanyama, who still has 1 whole year of development.

Oct 25, 2023 · Also, he has awesome footwork and flexibility. His ability to pick up ball skills with that frame shows how special of a talent he is. If you think it is an insult to say Victor Wenbenyama couldn't pick up volleyball blocking after a year of good training, you're foolish and are under estimating just how great of a complete athlete he is.
