Located conveniently along the thriving economic I-85 corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte, USC Upstate is set in the picturesque foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The 330-acre campus features modern facilities, sports venues, residential housing and green space.
John C. Stockwell Administration Building. The John C. Stockwell Administration Building was the first building built on campus and it opened in 1969. Positioned on top of the building is a shiny, gold-leaf dome that gleams in the sun and can be seen from afar.

USC Upstate
This was the first building completed on campus in 1969, and is instantly recognizable by its gleaming gold dome. The main floor houses the Chancellor's Office, Academic Affairs, Institutional Research, the Provost’s Office, University Advancement, Alumni Relations and University Communications.

Ring Around the Fountain – Up Magazine
USC Upstate kicked off a new tradition during Family and Alumni Weekend in October. Juniors, graduating seniors, and alumni who had purchased the official university ring were invited to a ceremony at the Sorenson Fountain in front of the John C. Stockwell Administration Building.
A World Away – Up Magazine
USC Upstate is home to 84 international students, undergraduate and graduate, from 14 different countries. While they represent only 1% of the undergraduate student body, they are 10% of Upstate’s student athletes, representing the Spartans in basketball, soccer and golf.
