Overall: The beer is drinkable but it has a strong sweetness to it and the metallic aroma isn't doing it any favors. Even as a "Non Alcoholic Malt Beverage" (as indicated by the can) it just doesn't feel well-crafted. I wouldn't really recommend it and I probably wouldn't pick it up again.

Aug 5, 2013 · Legally in the US "Non-alcoholic" beer - aka "cereal beverage" or "near beer" - must be "less than 0.5% alcohol by volume" (Chapter 1, same source as linked above). In addition there are some malt beverages that have no alcohol and are legally labeled "Alcohol free".

In a past thread I made mention that alcohol in beer plays the role of a flavor enhancer. My understanding is that the absence of alcohol in beer significantly impacts the ability of the beer to be flavorful (tasty).

Dec 15, 2011 · Non-alcoholic beer is the fastest growing segment in beer. 80% of people who buy Athletic drink regular beer. So, they aren't buying instead of beer, they are buying in addition to beer. They do say their brewing process is unique and won't go into detail of it.
