The only time a Padres team has scored fewer over a five-game span was in the franchise’s first year of existence. That expansion team scored two runs in five games from June 20-23, 1969, and went on to finish the season 52-110.

Santander has been dealing with some injury issues this season, most notably his left shoulder that has caused some repeated problems throughout the year. Shortly after his removal, the Blue Jays announced an update on Santander, and it was a different injury this time that caused his early exit.

The San Diego Padres benefitted from Tyler Wade returning to the team after not making the roster out of Spring Training, but not in the way Padres fans would have hoped. He came in as a position player pitcher in San Diego’s 14-0 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto, Wednesday.
