Cooler, cloudier conditions and periods of light rain are forecast in San Diego County through Friday night as a weakening atmospheric river moves southward into Southern California, according to the National Weather Service.

Warm and dry weather will close out the weekend, with rain and snow expected in parts of the region by midweek, according to the National Weather Service.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Seventeen people died in San Diego County traffic in just the first month of 2025. ABC 10News has been tracking traffic fatalities this year, and in January, there were at least 17 reported incidents resulting in a person’s death.

The latest forecasts have the rain arriving Wednesday and lingering off and on through Friday, before skies clear up next Saturday.

"Rainfall is expected to decrease to the south with around one-quarter to one-half inch for the Inland Empire and Orange County, and around one-third inch across northern San Diego County to around one-tenth inch across southern San Diego County.

While a stationary atmospheric river dumps rain and snow in northern and central California this week, areas south of Los Angeles, including San Diego, will get significantly less precipitation.
