A rare winter storm swept through the Deep South on Tuesday, bringing record-breaking snowfall to South Louisiana. Baton Rouge experienced its largest snowfall in over a century, with the National Weather Service officially recording 7.

As historic snowfall – in some places more than double-digit totals – fell Tuesday along the Gulf Coast and in the Deep South and Southeast, meteorologists ran out of adjectives to describe what they were seeing.
