A Mexican Navy tall ship called the Armada de la República Mexicana (ARM) Cuauhtémoc struck the Brooklyn Bridge at about 8:24 p.m. EST Saturday, May 17 killing two sailors and injuring over a dozen more.

Two people died and more than a dozen others were injured when a historic Mexican naval training ship struck the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City on Saturday night, Mayor Eric Adams said.

A mechanical function caused the ship to go right into the pillar of the bridge, hitting the masts of the ship where there was a couple of sailors on top of it.
