Carlo Acutis, a London-born Italian teenager who died of leukaemia, is to be canonised at the Vatican on 27 April during the Jubilee of Teenagers in Rome.
The pontiff's surprise entrance came during a special Jubilee Mass for those who are sick and those who care for the sick.
