ALAMO, Texas (AP) — South Texas worked to dry out on Friday after severe thunderstorms a day earlier flooded streets, forced the closure of an airport and compelled dozens of water rescues as many drivers were forced to abandon their vehicles on roads and parking lots as some areas were inundated with more than a foot of rain.
The front will move though San Antonio between 6 and 8 a.m., sending exceptionally dry air into the area, along with gusty winds.
We’ve had a record warm March so far in South Texas. San Antonio has already hit at least 90 degrees three times this month, and we’re likely to touch the 90-degree mark for the fourth time Tuesday afternoon.
Afternoon commuters on Thursday should expect more rain in time for rush hour and later into the evening. More rain was expected on Friday. Sunshine returns by Saturday.
