Angry scenes were witnessed in Nepal’s Parliament on Tuesday when lawmakers raised concerns over the death of Nepali national Prakriti Lamsal, a third-year computer science student in KIIT, Odisha, demanding diplomatic efforts for proper security.

To maintain order on the campus, two platoons of police were deployed. The police also sealed the deceased student's room and kept her body in the mortuary until her parents arrived.

This came even as police arrested five persons -- three senior KIIT staff members and two security guards – for allegedly assaulting the agitating students on Monday.
