State officials are asking for public input on the Centennial Bridge, which can be submitted online until May 1.

The community was able to hear the plans of this project from project leaders and could give input on bridge improvements.

For 85 years, the Centennial Bridge has kept the Quad Cities connected, but as the bridge ages, experts say maintenance costs keep rising and frequent repairs are no longer sustainable.

Officials said the "defect", which is by a bridge over a railway line had been ‘noted’ and was currently awaiting repair.
