STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A house fire reported Friday morning in Meiers Corners drew a large FDNY response to the area.

An off-duty firefighter has been indicted on charges of driving while intoxicated and killing another driver, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.
