Dev Anand, known for his flamboyance and charisma, had worked with Suraiya, who was regarded as one of the finest and greatest actresses in the history of Indian cinema on multiple films.

Suraiya was in a relationship with actor Dev Anand for four years from 1948 to 1951. The two also decided to slope and get married, however, her family never let them take their relationship forward.

Born on 15 June 1929 in a Muslim family in Punjab, Suraiya worked with almost every actor but her pairing with Dev Anand was widely admired. She was an actress and a playback singer too.
