On Thursday, the weather service says the chance of precipitation is 100 percent, with the likelihood of it becoming all rain after noon and a high near 39. After a winter storm dropped some snow on Connecticut Sunday, a second system is expected to bring a wintry mix of snow and freezing rain Wednesday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for portions of northwestern Connecticut from 6 a.m. Friday through 1 p.m.

An approaching system could bring up to 5 inches of snow and ice, and disrupt morning and afternoon travel before a flip to rain in some places.
