The error screen known as the BSOD is undergoing a radical change, and while it’s a nice idea, I fear it could confuse more people than it helps.

The blue screen with a frowning face and QR code will soon make for a plain black colour that matches better with the user interface of the soon-to-be-released Windows 11 update later this year.

However, in a blog post, Microsoft has announced that will be updating the iconic Windows Blue Screen of Death with a new look. The tech giant said that it is “previewing a new, more streamlined UI for unexpected restarts which better aligns with Windows 11 design principles.”
