A winter storm warning was released by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 12:16 p.m. EDT in effect until Monday at 2 a.m. EDT for Alger, Luce, Delta and Schoolcraft counties.

A significant winter storm will impact the Northern California area Sunday through Tuesday, bringing widespread rain, gusty winds and heavy mountain snow.

At 2:07 p.m. on Saturday, the NWS Reno NV issued a winter storm warning valid from Sunday 11 p.m. until Monday 11 p.m. for Lake Tahoe.

While this storm won't produce blockbuster snow totals, it's notable for strong winds. Some areas in the Plains and upper Midwest will experience dangerous travel conditions.
