The Blues recognize what they did well in Game 1. Their power play was 2-for-3. They were physical, especially early; St. Louis was credited with 32 hits in the first period. It held Winnipeg’s power play, ranked No. 1 in the regular season (28.9 percent) to one goal on four opportunities.

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Blues open playoffs Saturday against the President’s Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets. This marks the Blues’ first playoff game in three years, in addition to a rematch of the first-round series from the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, which St. Louis won en route to a Stanley Cup.

The Jets enter as heavy favorites, as expected for the league’s best team this season. But the Blues’ chances should not be discounted.
