The Marcus Smart era with the Grizzlies came to an end right before Thursday’s trade deadline. Smart is headed from the Grizzlies to the Wizards in a multi-team trade as first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. The Grizzlies are sending a first-round pick to the Wizards while Memphis gets two second-round picks.

Golden State is hoping to climb the standings, but for the Grizzlies, they’re in a different spot. Memphis (35-16) remains in sole possession of the No. 2 seed after a win against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday. With that game now finished, all eyes have shifted to Thursday’s 2 p.m. trade deadline.
