An overnight storm brought snow to Connecticut Wednesday morning, causing some school delayed openings ahead of a wintry mix expected for Thursday morning.

A mixed precipitation storm led to hundreds of school closings across Connecticut on Thursday. The snow began falling in the morning hours and was expected to leave as many as four inches of accumulation in most parts of Connecticut before changing over to a wintry mix by the early afternoon hours,

On Tuesday at 3:59 a.m. the NWS Blacksburg VA issued a winter storm warning valid from 4 a.m. until Wednesday 4 p.m. for Watauga County.

Winter storms are expected in Connecticut Tuesday and Wednesday nights that will cause "hazardous' morning commutes this week, the weather service says.

The NWS Reno NV issued a winter storm watch at 1:05 p.m. on Monday valid from Wednesday 10 p.m. until Friday 10 p.m. for Mono County.
