Our First Alert Weather team has posted a First Alert Weather Day for Thursday as the next snowstorm is set to bring heavy snow to southern Colorado.

A winter storm expected to hit southern Colorado on Wednesday could drop more than a foot of snow in the mountains and up to six inches in the southern metro area.

Weather Advisory is active through 5 p.m. Thursday for the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Wet Mountains, upper Rio Grande Valley and eastern San Juan Mountains, NWS forecasters said.

If you’re among the tens of millions experiencing warmer weather across the country, these scenes may look a little strange. But it wasn’t warm and clear everywhere – this was the situation in parts of Colorado on Thursday.
