CLEVELAND, Ohio — Thursday is opening day for the Guardians and pitcher Tanner Bibee gets the start in Kansas City against the Royals at 4:05 p.m.
Ian Hamilton threw his first live batting practice of the spring Thursday since contracting an infection early in Yankees’ spring training camp.
Ramirez's primary focus is on helping the Guardians win games, however. Cleveland has not earned a World Series victory since 1948. With Ramirez leading the way, the Guardians reached the American League Championship Series last year. They were ultimately defeated by the New York Yankees, though.
Last season, Carrasco made 21 starts for the Guardians, pitching to a 5.64 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 103.2 innings. In October this year, the Yankees signed Carrasco to a minor league contract.
Jones, who turns 27 in May, produced a 20-20 season in 2023 and finished fourth in the NL Rookie of the Year voting. He regressed last season, in part due to lower back trouble, then struggled again this spring.
Brian Cashman reportedly revealed that veteran starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco was added to the Yankees' roster.
