A family of six died in a house fire near the Saint Lawrence River. Firefighters were able to pull the victims from the building, but they all died at the hospital.

Firefighters discovered the child suffering from severe smoke inhalation and brought her up to the roof as thick smoke filling the hallways initially blocked their exit.

Officials said the fire started shortly after 12 p.m. on Friday on the third floor of the complex, then spread to the fourth and fifth floors.
