A man who is a Shelby County Jail employee has been charged with sodomizing an inmate, according to Kentucky State Police.

A Shelby County Jail inmate, Courtney Berry, was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead on Sunday. Berry's death marks at least the fifth inmate death at the overcrowded facility this year.
