The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a gap-up start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,195 level, a premium of nearly 87 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

Indian markets opened on a positive note, with the Sensex rising over 300 points and the Nifty surpassing 23,100. Tata Steel gained 2%, while Senco Gold tumbled 12%. The rupee strengthened to 86.85 against the dollar.
