Organizations and communities across the nation are celebrating Black History Month, not just to celebrate Black history, to be teach it and its importance.

From trailblazers to inventors, Olympians, and politicians, numerous Black historical figures have left their marks on American history for decades. Unfortunately, a lot of their accomplishments are unsung and under-acknowledged.

Black History Month uses four colors— black, red, green and yellow —to symbolize unity and pride. Each of the four colors has its own distinct meaning and significance. The colors of Black History Month are also the colors of many African flags,

February is Black History Month, and Utah’s universities and other organizations are hosting a range of activities focused on the population but open to all.

Also omitted is Indigenous Peoples Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and Holocaust Remembrance Day, according to social media users and product experts.
