Dick Button, the first figure skater to win a gold medal for the U.S. in 1948, died Thursday, Jan. 30 at the age of 95.
Button is widely considered one of the greatest figure skaters of all time. He was the first American skater to win an Olympic gold medal in 1948 and repeated as Olympic champion in 1952, after he successfully landed the first double axel and triple jump in competition.
