Georgia Republican lawmakers will be on the clock next year to pass election legislation ahead of 2026 election.

Lawmakers passed a bill that would change how wrongfully convicted people are compensated — and repay President Trump for attorneys' fees after being indicted.

The Georgia House let an elections overhaul bill die Friday night, failing to take a vote on proposals that would have withdrawn the state from a voter registration accuracy organization and banned absentee ballot drop-off the weekend before Election Day.

Eight candidates, including both incumbents, are running for two seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission. The District 2 race features a Republican primary followed by a contest between the Republican nominee and a Democrat in November.
