The U.S. Senate confirmed Pam Bondi on Tuesday night to become the next U.S. attorney general and lead the Justice Department during the Trump administration.

WASHINGTON — The Senate confirmed Pam Bondi as U.S. attorney general Tuesday evening, putting a longtime ally of Donald Trump at the helm of a Justice Department that has already been rattled by the firings of career employees seen as disloyal to the Republican president.

The full Senate voted in the evening, approving Bondi as the next attorney general, tasked with running the Department of Justice.
