Savannah's roads are expected to clear by the weekend as GDOT works tirelessly to manage the snowstorm. Residents are advised to stay off icy roads until then.

As snow fall and icy conditions gripped much of Georgia, the Department of Transportation is working overnight to treat roads in all around the state.

WAYCROSS, Ga. – The rare winter wonderland in Southeast Georgia continued Wednesday morning after snow began to fall Tuesday night in Waycross. The conditions made traveling on roads hazardous and icy patches forced authorities to close all lanes of I-95 southbound at St. Marys Road (County Road 61).

While it's stopped snowing, deadly winter weather conditions aren't gone. The National Weather Service is warning of icy roads persisting in Georgia.
