Fans noticed Dana Carvey and Dan Aykroyd were not in Studio 8H during the “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special. Meanwhile, Steve Martin jokes that the show’s COVID “curse” is real.
"The 40th anniversary [episode] was me walking around stealing things whenever Dana Carvey would put them down," he said on Ego Nwodim's podcast.

Dana Carvey was among the most conspicuous no-shows at Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special this past weekend. And now we know why one of the show’s all-star cast members didn’t make it to New York City.
