Josh McDaniels is joining Vrabel’s coaching staff as New England’s offensive coordinator, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. A six-time Super Bowl champion as an assistant coach, McDaniels is best known as Bill Belichick’s longtime offensive playcaller.

The 48-year-old— who interviewed with the franchise on Tuesday in Foxborough —has widely been considered the favorite since New England announced Mike Vrabel as their head coach last Sunday.
