The Seminoles will start things off in the confines of Dick Howser Stadium after being one of 16 teams chosen to host an opening round regional. It’s the 37th time in program history that FSU will serve as a regional host and the program’s 61st postseason berth.

North Carolina went with sophomore righty Jason DeCaro on the mound, who dominated Florida State in a run-rule win last weekend. In a similar vein, the Noles started Wes Mendes, the left-hander that had success in Florida State’s lone win over the Tar Heels.

The Eagles lost in the second round to North Carolina, 7-2, despite leading for the first six innings of the game. The Tar Heels went on to win the tournament.

The FSU Seminoles are set to start their ace Jamie Arnold against the Duke Blue Devils in the ACC Baseball Tournament.

Florida State’s bats were hot early against Duke, and the Seminoles advanced to the ACC Tournament semifinal round. The Blue Devils must now await their NCAA Tournament fate.
