A back-and-forth contest saw the Panthers take early leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but goals from William Nylander and Max Domi in the second period gave the Leafs their first lead of the night. Anton Lundell tied the game for Florida early in the third period, but Mitch Marner scored the eventual game winner just 17 seconds later.

Mackie Samoskevich moved up to the second line with Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk to begin the third period. Evan Rodrigues as a result has dropped to the fourth line with Nico Sturm and Jesper Boqvist. The Maple Leafs have their first lead of the game, 3-2, with 2:51 left in the second period.
