At a court hearing Monday in Oakland County, Jacob Gean, 28, and Jessie Gean, 26, pleaded no contest to violating Michigan’s safe storage law. They were each charged with a felony because the shooting involved a minor and resulted in injury. The boy shot himself in the hand last August while at home on Palmer Street in Madison Heights, police said.
