A man who was threatening to harm himself was shot by sheriff’s deputies Wednesday night after they said he would not drop his firearms, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. Deputies responded to a 911 call about a suicidal person at a home on Bright Leaf Drive in Clayton after 9:30 p.m., according to a news release.

According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a “suicidal” call at a home in the area of Bright Leaf Drive.  When they arrived they found a “suicidal man” at the house, who then ran out of the back of the house and into a construction site,
