The field's export route, which previously went through the Brent Charlie platform that ceased production in 2021 and is being decommissioned,

Penguins redevelopment is part of Shell’s strategy to boost its UK North Sea output to more than 500,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day between 2023 and 2025

The new FPSO is expected to extend the life of the UK field by up to 20 years while reducing operational emissions by about 30%.
