Germany’s two major centrist parties have reached a coalition deal, the culmination of weeks of negotiations after the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) emerged as winner in February’s federal election.

There is a strong will to reach a coalition agreement on Tuesday in the talks between Germany's conservatives - winners of the election six weeks ago - and the centre-left Social Democrats (SPD), the Bild newspaper reported citing unnamed sources.
