The 700–1,300 feet-wide space rock deformed rocks more than six miles from the impact site when it hit 600 million years ago.

Satellite imagery shared by the National Weather Service showed a low-pressure system ready to bring "strong winds, rain, and heavier mountain snow," to parts of the Northwest U.S. into Tuesday.
