MLB fined New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. and suspended him for one game for his comments about an umpire in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media confirmed the punishment doled out by the league.

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm was ejected from Thursday night's 6-3 victory against the Tampa Bay Rays (box score) after disagreeing with a strikeout call from home-plate umpire John Bacon.

The MLB hit Chisholm with a fine and a one-game suspension for his reaction to being ejected. He’s probably fortunate it was just one game. Criticizing umpires will never go over well with the league and it certainly won’t help going to social media to express how mad you are.
