Admittedly, I thought Logan’s story in Deadpool and Wolverine would be similar to Old Man Logan's ... and cut-off hand with a metal forearm that Logan had during this timeline.

We speculated at the time the device was the TVA, and Marvel has practically confirmed it with the first Deadpool & Wolverine trailer. The same logic can apply to Iron Man for Secret Wars.
