The regional airline flight in Alaska that crashed, killing all 10 people onboard, was overweight before it took off, according to a preliminary report released Wednesday by the National Transportation Safety Board.

Freezing rain was reported in Nome at the time of the crash. A large weather front over Western Alaska created the potential for ice buildup as the plane neared the airport, according to the NTSB report.

The report shared that the temperature was about -10 degrees Celsius, or 14 degrees Fahrenheit, with snow and ice in the air. There was some ice found on the tail, but again, it is something they're looking at. The plane didn't have a black box on board, but it did have a computer that recorded some flight data, which they are reviewing as well.
