After six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, the wide receiver wanted a change of scenery, and he got his wish after being traded to the Commanders. In exchange, the 49ers received a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft. The 29-year-old Samuel said he's ready to roll up his sleeves and help the Commanders reach loftier heights.

Deebo Samuel said the Washington Commanders are getting a very motivated player after trading for him and reworking his contract.

I’m just coming to add my little dog mentality and contribute to the offense in any aspect they need me," Samuel told reporters.
