Following UConn’s recent victory, Geno Auriemma showed immense emotion when his star player, Paige Bueckers, unexpectedly left the press conference. The coach’s reaction displayed the deep connection that existed between him and his star athlete.

Auriemma has coached 27 All-American players during his tenure at UConn. That includes Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore-Irons, Breanna Stewart, Paige Bueckers and so many more. The list continues to grow. Five of those players became No. 1 overall picks in the WNBA (Taurasi, Bird, Stewart, Moore-Irons and Tina Charles).
