A severe storm threat develops in Chicago around noon Wednesday, brining high winds, heavy rain, and threats of hail and isolated tornadoes.

Many across the Chicago area Wednesday woke up to stormy weather with rain, thunder and more as the first of multiple rounds of showers and storms pushed through much of Illinois and northwest Indiana.

Dozens of tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings were issued in parts of Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri and Mississippi as storms hit those and other states in the evening.

Millions were under tornado watches in Arkansas on April 2 as severe storms brought heavy rain across the Mid-South.

After hail, heavy rains and more than 30 tornadoes drenched the region, officials warned that a “generational flooding” disaster was possible.
