As Anthony Davis gets ready to start his new chapter with the Dallas Mavericks, he took some time to write a heartfelt farewell message to Los Angeles after being traded from the Lakers in a blockbuster deal for Luka Doncic.

The unfathomable trade has certainly shaken up the NBA, but Davis, a longtime close friend of LeBron James, acknowledged that he understands the business side of basketball. It was surely an unexpected move, but he made clear he's looking forward to competing with the Mavericks, where he'll team up with Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson.
