The novelist Salman Rushdie showed a jury his blinded right eye on Tuesday as he testified against the man charged with trying to murder him at a talk at a rural New York venue in 2022.

Salman Rushdie has described in graphic detail the frenzied moments in 2022 when a masked man rushed at him on a stage in western New York and repeatedly slashed him with a knife, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

It was the first time that the author had come face-to-face with the suspect since the 2022 stabbing, which left him blind in one eye.
