Attorneys general are warning federal employees about the Trump administration's buyout offer, saying they may not reap the supposed benefits.

Federal workers who don’t want to return to the office are being offered buyouts, according to a memo posted to the US Office of Personnel Management’s website Tuesday night.

Federal employees who accept the buyout would be given 8 months of pay and benefits through September and are exempt from return-to-office policy.
