In comparison, Buckeye Chuck had been correct an estimated 75% of the time as of last year, according to the Marion Star, a part of the USA TODAY Network. Witnesses told police the suspect left his apartment and began throwing objects, including flowerpots, at people nearby.

Groundhog Day was Sunday, and Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania saw his shadow, predicting wintry weather for six more weeks.
